Should I Rent My Property Furnished or Unfurnished?

Should I rent my property with or without furniture? This is a frequent question we are asked and it depends on your circumstances at the time you are looking to rent your property.

What do we mean by this?  Does your property already have furniture at the time you are looking to rent it for long term rental?  You maybe looking to move to another country or a different area and do not want to ship your furniture.  Shipping the furniture maybe not worth your while with the costs involved and you would prefer to leave it.

Or for example you may have purchased a brand new property and you do not wish to spend any further monies on buying furniture. 

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Only personal circumstances.

In brief, there may be a small financial gain if you are renting your property furnished, but then there is also the depreciation and deterioration of the furniture as time progresses.  No rental tenant goes out of their way to damage furniture, but used on a regular basis will deteriorate over time.  These are all things you need to consider when renting your property for long term rental.   There are plenty of tenants looking for both furnished and unfurnished properties.
